iLearn’s CHIEF Principles
iLearn’s CHIEF Principles
Summer has come to an end and the school year is now in full swing. Many students are making adjustments as they head back to school, many of which include online coursework.
For all our new students this year we encourage you to familiarize yourself with your teacher and your class policies.
We want to remind you that your teachers are here to support you along your academic journey and you can reach out to them for support of any kind. Getting to know your teacher will help you better understand who they are and how they mark. You’re free to bring your full self to iLearn, whatever that may look like.
Our CHIEF principles below are to help you understand what our school is all about
- Community
We foster community connection within the school as well as in the larger community as a whole. We build lasting community connections with students and community members by facilitating interaction through group work (coursework).
- Heart
We believe that educating the heart is just as, if not more important than educating the mind (Aristotle). iLearn student’s emotional well-being is just as important as academic success.
- Integrity
We believe that our thoughts, actions, and words should be aligned. In demonstrating such values we instil the importance of ethics in our students. Through leading by example we aim to pass this value down to all iLearn students, so that they will be well rounded future community leaders.
- Equality
Every iLearn student and staff member is given an equal opportunity to succeed.
- Freedom
Students have the freedom to decide when, where, and how they want to complete their schooling (courses). At iLearn our students work at their own pace and have the freedom to set their own schedules.
